The court arrested the unregistered candidate for the Moscow City Duma Dmitry Gudkov for 10 days

The Koptevsky District Court arrested Dmitry Gudkov, an unregistered candidate for the Moscow City Duma, for 10 days. This was reported on Gudkov's telegram channel.

The court found Gudkov guilty of organizing a rally on July 27 without filing a notice (part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) for posting on Facebook. At the moment, Gudkov is serving 30 days, which he was appointed by the Tverskoy District Court. Then he was arrested under the article on repeated violation of the rules for holding a rally (part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) for a tweet announcing a meeting with voters on July 14. There are 6 days left until the end of Gudkov's previous term.

The judge did not satisfy the request of lawyer Oksana Oparenko to summon an employee of the Center "E", who found Gudkov's Facebook post calling for people to attend a rally.

• This is not the first serial arrest of unregistered candidates. According to the Apology of Protest, the court arrested Ilya Yashin 4 times in a row, 3 times Yulia Galyamina and Konstantin Yankauskas, 2 times Oleg Stepanov and Ivan Zhdanov.
• In total, during the protest actions in Moscow on July 27 in support of independent candidates in the elections to the Moscow City Duma, according to OVD-Info, were detained 1,373 people . At least 265 detainees spent the night in police departments. Three days after the action, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on the riots.
• The protests continued for the next two weeks. On August 3, protest walks took place along the Boulevard Ring, during which 1,001 people were detained. A week after the agreed rally on Sakharov Avenue, the protesters went for a walk in the center of Moscow. Then in the capital, according to OVD-Info, 256 people were detained.
