Sberbank announced the closing of a deal with Rambler Group , in which the state bank received 46.5% of the holding's shares in exchange for investments.
Sberbank's investments in the media group's capital will go towards developing digital services and technology platforms, the bank said in a statement.
The size of the investment is not specified. RBC previously reported, citing sources, that Sberbank is ready to invest 9-11 billion rubles.
"As a result of the partnership, Sberbank's ecosystem has been supplemented with digital products and services from Rambler Group," the bank reported. It noted that the deal concerns the Okko online cinema, more than 30 websites (for example, Lenta.Ru, Gazeta.Ru and LiveJournal.com), the Rambler.Kassa service and the Khudozhestvenny cinema.
