Samsung Electronics Rus Company, the Russian subsidiary of Samsung, was fined 2.5 million rubles for violating competition law.
The Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service reported that the company coordinated the economic activities of stores that sold Samsung smartphones and tablets. This led to the establishment and maintenance of prices for the company's equipment, the department noted.
Employees of the Russian “daughter” of Samsung, who “monitored the observance of prices”, were also brought to administrative responsibility, the FAS said.
