The families of those who died at a military training ground near Severodvinsky employees of the Russian Federal Nuclear Center-the All-Russian Research Institute of Experimental Physics (RFYAC-VNIIEF) paid financial assistance.
According to TASS with reference to the Ministry of Finance of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the amount of payments is 200 thousand rubles. The affected employees of the nuclear center received 100 thousand rubles.
On August 8, an explosion occurred at the training ground in the Arkhangelsk region. Five people were killed. In the region, the radiation level increased 16 times. The Ministry of Defense did not reveal the details of the tests. Rosatom, in turn, insists that the emergency occurred during work with the reactive installation.
Local doctors reported that at least 90 people contacted the victims with infected radiation. According to doctors, they were not warned about radiation.
Earlier, the authorities of the Arkhangelsk region confirmed that one of the doctors of the hospital, where the victims were delivered after the explosion near Severodvinsky, found the radioactive cesium-137. However, it was argued that Cesius-137 fell into the doctor’s body through food.
The press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the evidence of the Archangelian doctors, said that "someone wants to deliberately encourage the information background, distort reality and give the situation as if there are prerequisites for danger."
