A participant in the July 27 rally detained in Belarus is going to be deported to Moscow

Nikita Chirtsov, a participant in the action on July 27, detained in Minsk, is going to be deported to Moscow on August 30. Nasta Loika, a lawyer for the human rights organization Human Constanta, reported this to OVD-Info.

The man is currently in a temporary detention facility. According to Loik, Russia put Chirtsov on the wanted list under two articles at once - “mass riots” (Article 212 of the Criminal Code) and the use of violence against a government official (Article 318 of the Criminal Code). Chirtsov plans to apply for refugee status in Belarus and try to appeal the deportation with a request to suspend the execution.

Nikita Chirtsov was detained in Minsk on August 28. According to OVD-Info, he took part in the rally on July 27 and was already fined in an administrative case for participating in the rally (Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code).

TASS reported that Chirtsov was put on the wanted list by the Russian authorities in connection with a criminal case of mass riots.

• On July 27, protests took place in Moscow in support of independent candidates in the Moscow City Duma elections, during which, according to OVD-Info, 1,373 people were detained . Three days after the action, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case for mass riots. There are 13 defendants in the case, all of them were charged with participation in mass riots (Part 2 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code). Four - Evgeniy Kovalenko, Kirill Zhukov, Danil Beglets and Ivan Podkopaev - were also accused of using harmless violence against government officials (Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code), their cases under this article were separated into separate proceedings.
