When Natalia lost her leg, she panicked and cried. But then she stopped. Photographer Svetlana Tarasova tells the story of one strong woman.
The schedule of Natalia Filyushko for a week is completely filled. The pool and table tennis, vocals and power lifting, a lot of diverse classes-and this is not counting that she works and grows her daughter.
This was not always the case.
Natalya says that earlier, like many, she put off her dreams for tomorrow, moving by inertia from home to work and then home again. Five years ago, she decided to take care of herself a little and reached the fitness center, but almost immediately turned her leg. The case seems to be ordinary, but the pain was severe, and the most diverse types of treatment did not help. What was the matter, they understood only in Moscow, on a serious examination. Oncological disease, serious treatment, amputation of the leg.
At first, Natasha panicked and cried. But very quickly it forbade to do this to myself and relatives, passed a long and difficult rehabilitation, began to get used to a new life. And in an amazing way, this life turned out to be more fully than before. Natasha learned to drive a car, found a new job and many different classes. I had to get used to the prosthesis for a long time, but now its gait is so natural that it is not clear which leg is amputated.
Natasha says that now she dates back to the time. She appreciates every minute, wants to try new and even take risks. She wants to help people with the same problems as her, and is sure that the power of spirit and will to life can defeat any disease.
“There is only one life, and you need to live with pleasure using every opportunity,” says Natasha. “I'm doing this and now I'm happy.”
