The Investigative Committee has decided to check nine videos of the defendant in the “Moscow case” Yegor Zhukov for extremism
The Investigative Committee has ordered an examination of nine videos from the YouTube channel of the defendant in the " Moscow case ", student of the Higher School of Economics Yegor Zhukov. This was reported by Mediazona, citing his lawyer Ilya Novikov.
Almost 140 thousand people are subscribed to Yegor Zhukov's blog on YouTube. The channel has published about 130 videos.
Yegor Zhukov became a defendant in the "Moscow case" because of a video recording in which, as stated in the investigation materials, certain "specified persons make gestures to the right" during a protest on July 27. The Investigative Committee believed that Zhukov was leading the crowd of protesters. Ilya Novikov previously reported that investigators had established that the person depicted in the video was not Yegor Zhukov. However, the charges against the student were not dropped.
HSE Vice-Rector Valeria Kasamara, who is running for the Moscow City Duma, as well as Novaya Gazeta, Ekho Moskvy, and rapper Oxxxymiron, have previously spoken out in support of Yegor Zhukov.
