The investigation decided to check the video from the blog of the defendant of the case of riots on July 27 for extremism

The Investigative Committee will check for the presence of an extremism of the video from the blog of the defendant of the criminal case about the "riots" on July 27 in Moscow Yegor Zhukov. This was reported on the website "Mediazons" with reference to the lawyer Zhukov Ilya Novikov.

Egor Zhukov is a student at the Higher School of Economics and a video blogger. The investigation sent nine videos from Zhukov blog for examination. At the moment, the young man is accused of part 2 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code (participation in riots).

According to lawyer Novikov, the investigation does not have evidence of Zhukov’s guilt. Law enforcement agencies took Zhukov for another person, who, according to the investigation, ruled the crowd - and therefore riots - July 27. According to Novikov, the investigation quickly understood its mistake, but did not want to correct it and decided to insist on accusations.

The New Gazeta recorded a video on which she understands in detail that Zhukov was confused with another person.

• The VSE video blogger Egor Zhukov is one of the participants in the action on July 27, who are accused under the article on participation in the riots (part 2 of article 212 of the Criminal Code). Four of them - Evgeny Kovalenko, Kirill Zhukov, Danila to the fugitive and Ivan Podkopaeva - separately charged with the use of violence to representatives of the authorities.
• In Moscow, mass protests for more than a month last for the admission of independent candidates for elections to the Moscow City Duma. On the shares of July 27 (1373 detainees) and on August 3 (1001 detained), employees of law enforcement agencies harshly detained and beat people who went out into the street.
