REN TV accused Senator Vyacheslav Markhaev, who criticized the police for dispersing protests in Moscow, of attacking a film crew

The REN TV channel filed a complaint with the Investigative Committee regarding an attack on the film crew by Vyacheslav Markhaev, a member of the Federation Council from the Irkutsk region.

In a statement, correspondent Yevgeniya Mogilevskaya said the senator began twisting her arm, and his assistants began pushing the cameraman after she asked whether Markhayev was involved in the underground gambling business in Ulan-Ude. As a result of the incident, Mogilevskaya suffered a dislocated arm, and the cameraman suffered a bruise.

Markhaev, in turn, appealed to the Moscow City Court and to the Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika, stating that the REN TV materials discredit his honor and dignity.
