More than a year, from July 26, 2018, on the border of the Komi Republic and the Arkhangelsk region, the largest landfill for household waste in Europe is under construction. Residents of the regions are opposed by a project that is not agreed with them, or with the municipal authorities, or with experts. They are responded with beatings, detentions, fines, arrests, criminal cases.

Nevertheless, the “garbage investor” did not sit in the way - about 50 hectares of the forest were cut down, and the swamp under it was laid with concrete slabs, on which a hostel was erected for builders and protection, hangar, and outbuildings. The alienation zone is surrounded by a fence, which activists unsuccessfully tried to make out.

For this, the police drew up protocols on them - but on those who installed a fence in the middle of the forest - no. Meanwhile, according to documents on the site of the construction site, there is still a forest. Activists submitted a request to the Rosreestr on updating information on the status of a land plot adjacent to the station. So, according to the Forest Code, any fences there are subject to demolition, but on the contrary, no one has the right to prevent freely move through the forest, even if its sections are provided to anyone to use.

Meanwhile, the police have already tried to demand from activists to leave the territory - so far only with the help of papers without a signature and print, requiring a tent town. The criminal case on the fact of illegal deforestation was opened at the request of activists many months ago, there is still no suspect. Well, the investigation cannot find out who cut down all the trees under the construction site, some of which, by the way, lies on this very construction site. You will not have to be surprised if the sophisticated mind of law enforcers eventually declares the eco -activists themselves with black lumberjacks. At least this will be quite consistent with the actions of the police in Shies. So far, she only decorates the actions of a private security company hired by a contractor. It is impossible to identify any of the guards-contrary to the law on private security activities on uniform jackets, there are no personal cards, on their faces-the Balaklava mask. Activists consider the main beneficiary of the son of the Prosecutor General Igor Chaika and his company "Charter". However, in an interview with Fontanka, he himself said that he had nothing to do with the construction of the plant or the removal of waste to Shies. Nevertheless, the Tchaiki company remains the largest waste operator in the country. To assume that it really has nothing to do with Shies is to assume that the industry has a different, no less large, but at the same time unknown player.

One way or another, during a moratorium intended allegedly to study public opinion, work at the facility did not freeze, the builders were not exported from there, and the forces of the Russian Guard arrived to help the police.

All this suggests that the authorities expect to break activists through the knee, finally cleaning the territory.

True, in this case, the investor unknown to the general public at the same time with the gentlemen Orlov and Sobyanin puts the head of state in a strange position, which publicly declared that the opinion of the inhabitants should be taken into account. And according to a survey of the Levada Center, the construction of the garbage training ground at the Shies station in the Arkhangelsk region is not supported by 95 percent of residents. On September 22, the next single protest day against the landfill in Shies was scheduled. The rallies will cover the north of the country - and only 20 days remain in power to influence their agenda.
