Appeal of the head of the movement "For Human Rights" Leo Ponomarev

The completely unprecedented pressure on the movement “for human rights” continues in connection with the recognition of it by a foreign agent, so I have to periodically turn to those who, perhaps, would like this movement not to disappear.

To the very first protocols on which all courts passed and fines are already paying, new, one after another. There is a real hunt on the network: “Active angry citizens” are looking for any mention of the “For Human Rights” movement, and if, by analogy with terrorist organizations, the publication does not make a reservation on the recognition of “for human rights” by a foreign agent, then a denunciation is written in Roskomnadzor. And on us in automatic mode they draw the next protocol, and sometimes two at once: both on Leo Ponomarev personally and the organization as a whole.

At least five such protocols have already been written out, not all the courts have passed, but we have no doubt in the results. For example, one of the protocols was drawn up for the publication that our associates were placed in the regions in their group in Vkontakte. It was said that the head of the movement Lev Ponomarev visited Shies, and the fact that the movement is performing the functions of a foreign agent is not said. Therefore, hold the protocol.

It is impossible not to say that such with other organizations - “foreign agents” - does not happen.

The Foreign Agent of the OOD “For Human Rights” is nevertheless engaged in especially sharp, socially significant matters-this is the main priority of our work. But not because we take only such things, people come to us ourselves.

Legal consultations, the payment of the work of lawyers is by no means the main type of assistance that we try to provide. We conduct public campaigns, attract public support, work with the media, build interaction with state human rights institutes - the UPCh and SPCh, we send appeals to state bodies.

Over the past week alone, our lawyers entered the appeal hearings in the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation for two resonance, which have far-reaching consequences of cases: the case of the riot in the colony in Kopeysk (17 accused, the riot was provoked by the leadership of the colony), the case of the twelve participants of the Hizb Ut-Tahrir (recognized in the Russian Federation as a terrorist organization and prohibited by the court) terrorist activity without the slightest hint of such.

On August 28, we held in Rosbalt a press conference on the scandalous case of the Dagestan journalist Abdulmumin Gadzhiev, a weekly journalist Chernivik, one of the best independent regional publications. The accusation of financing terrorism is hung against Gadzhiev, and we have no doubt that this case is fabricated, like the Golunov’s matter, and the main goal of this factory is the liquidation of an independent publication.

The above - only over the past week. You can regularly read about which we follow and in which we take part in one way or another on our website. There you will find information about the case of Jehovah's Witnesses (recognized as an extremist organization), about the affairs of the alleged terrorist organization “Network” (banned in the Russian Federation) and supposedly extremist organization “New Greatness”, about the case of Konstantin Kotov, accused under the famous “Dadinskaya” article 212.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

In the background, our experts continue to send complaints to the European Court of Human Rights on City Constitutional Statters, go to the courts to protect the detained activists.

At the same time, OOD “For Human Rights” continues to closely monitor the development of the most acute conflicts between the authorities and society in Russia and provides support to citizens. The funds that you list us, in particular, went to pay for a sensational study of public opinion conducted by the Levada Center in the Arkhangelsk region, which revealed an extremely high level of consolidation of the company against the construction of garbage training grounds in Shiesa.
