Leningrad region: pickets were passed against the development of the lands protected by UNESCO

Residents of Koltusha held a series of single pickets near the government of the Government of the Leningrad Region in St. Petersburg. Information about this appeared in the public "Save Koltushi!" On the social network "VKontakte". Activists opposed the development of rare kamy landscapes around Tokkari Land with apartment buildings.

The public report said that this was the first picket from a series of pickets of the election week dedicated to the issues of the speedy approval of the project of the landmark place "Koltushza Upland". Three activists stood in a picket alternately.

Residents of the village of Koltushi of the Vsevolozhsk district of the Leningrad region protect from the developers "Koltush heights" for more than seven years.
The Koltush construction company received permission to build 12-story houses in this place.

At the end of May of this year, construction equipment began to remove a fertile layer from the eastern side of the field with relict sand hills. Then the activists blocked the road and did not let construction equipment into the facility. Two protests have already passed in the village itself.

"Koltush heights" are guarded by UNESCO. The Ministry of Culture is going to assign them the status of a "landmark place".
