Apple received a patent for a watch band that recognizes the owner

Apple has patented a new authentication method that can identify the owner of the Apple Watch by the skin, according to TechCrunch.

An infrared sensor is going to be built into the strap, which will create a thermal map of the wrist and remember the individual features of the skin, for example, its texture. To unlock the Apple Watch in this case, you do not need to enter a pin code. Now the pin code, if the user has enabled it, is required to be entered after the watch has been removed from the hand.

The Patentlyapple website mentions two more patents that the company has received. One of them is about a mechanism by which the strap on the Apple Watch will automatically tighten on the wrist if the device detects that it does not fit snugly on the hand.

The second refers to the indicator lights that are built into the strap. They will allow, without turning on the watch screen, to inform the user about new notifications or how close he is to fulfilling the plan for the calories spent per day.

The first Apple Watch was introduced in the fall of 2014 and went on sale in the spring of 2015.
