Almost 60 representatives of the Orthodox communities who did not share the temple fell into the Ukrainian village

In the church in the village of Malinsk, the Rivne region of Ukraine, almost 60 representatives of religious communities entered into a fight. On this fact, 12 criminal proceedings have been opened, the press service of the region’s police reports.

The mass brawl of believers occurred on September 3. "A message about the conflict with unknown persons who cut the locks on the doors of the temple are trying to take things out of there, and the receipt of bodily injuries by local residents began to come to the police from 7:30," the press service said.

Law enforcement officers found out that representatives of the parish council of the Peter and Paul Parish of the Rivne diocese of the new Orthodox Church of Ukraine (PCU) cut locks on the entrance doors of the temple and penetrated inside for worship. “This led to the next conflict between representatives of religious communities, the relations between which were aggravated in the spring this year. The dispute near the church between almost 60 people grew into a fight, during which eleven local residents received bodily injuries,” the police informed.

As part of a pre -trial investigation in a criminal case, initiated under Art. 356 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (arbitrariness), the investigators of the Bereznovsky police department seized documents that, according to representatives of the Peter and Paul Criminal of the Rivne diocese of PCU, confirm their ownership of the temple. In addition, 12 criminal proceedings were opened under Part 1 of Art. 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional application of light injuries), Interfax reports.

According to the Rivne media, the conflict in Malinsk occurred between supporters of the PCU and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC MP). Before that, representatives of PCU said that the priest beat two parishioners.

On December 15, 2018, in Kyiv in the Cathedral of St. Sophia under the auspices of the Patriarchate of Constantinople and with the active participation of the Ukrainian authorities, the Unification Council took place. According to its results, President Petro Poroshenko, despite the fact that in Ukraine the church is separated from the state, announced the creation of a new church structure in the country - an autocephalous local Orthodox Church. It was led by Metropolitan of Pereyaslavsky and Belotserkovsky Epiphanius (Dumenko), who previously served as a bishop of non -canonical Kyiv patriarchy. The new church is called in the documents as the "Orthodox Church of Ukraine."

The Russian Orthodox Church stated that the past unifying cathedral "does not mean anything." And the two metropolitans of the UOC -MP - Pereyaslav -Khmelnitsky Alexander (Dragminko) and Vinnitsa Simeon (Shostatsky), who took part in the unification cathedral, anathematized in the Russian Orthodox Church. The Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill said that the authorities of Ukraine, prompting believers to go to the new autocephalous church created from non -canonical religious organizations, show their people a false path .
