In Yaroslavl, a report was drawn up against an employee of Navalny’s headquarters due to a post in a telegram chat

In Yaroslavl, a protocol was drawn up against Navalny's headquarters employee Alexander Smirnov under Part 2 of Art. 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (organization or holding of an unapproved action) due to a post in a telegram chat. This is reported on the Twitter of the Yaroslavl headquarters.

“Smirnov, being the administrator of the channel of the public group on the social network Internet “Telegram” – “Team Navalny Yaroslavl” posted a call for participation in a public mass event in the form of picketing,” the protocol says.

In the publication, Smirnov called for individual pickets in solidarity with Moscow on August 10 on Red Square near the monument to Lenin. Participants of single pickets did not notify the local administration about the action. The police considered this a sufficient reason to charge Smirnov under the article on organizing an uncoordinated action, which provides for a fine of up to 30,000 rubles or arrest for up to 10 days.

• On July 27 and August 3 in Moscow, and on August 10 also in forty other cities of Russia, actions were held in support of unregistered candidates for the Moscow City Duma. The actions were accompanied by mass detentions and violence by the security forces.
