On July 27, another person involved in the “Moscow case” or the case of “mass riots”, Yevgeny Kovalenko, was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison. He was accused of throwing an urn at a National Guard officer.

- Kovalenko became the fifth convict in these few days. Today, the court sentenced Kirill Zhukov to 3 years in prison for trying to lift the visor of a policeman's helmet at a rally. The day before, Ivan Podkopaev (3 years in prison, sprayed an unknown substance from a spray can into the face of a policeman) and Danil Beglets (2 years in prison, pulled a policeman by the hand) were convicted.
- At the same time, yesterday the Investigative Committee closed the investigation against four more defendants in the case - Valery Kostenok, Sergey Abanichev, Daniil Konon, Vladislav Barabanov and Dmitry Vasilyev. Abanichev and Konon are already at large, Novaya Gazeta writes . All four were accused of throwing paper cups and plastic bottles at the police at the July 27 rally, as well as “coordinating riots”, showing people the direction of movement during the procession.
