The election of the governors of Transbaikalia and the Altai Republic will be held on September 8. Taiga.info recalls who claims to be posts, and what scandals accompanied the campaign.

Transbaikalia

The governor of the region, elected in 2016, Natalya Zhdanova resigned in October 2018. Before that, United Russia could not take the vast majority of mandates in the election in the Legislative Assembly. According to the lists, the party received only 28.31%, the Communist Party took the second place (24.65%), the third - the LDPR (24.56%). At the same time, the Communists increased the faction from 4 to 14 deputies.

Instead of Zhdanova, Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed the deputy head of the Ministry of Development of the Far East Alexander Osipov. After some time, the region for some reason became part of the Far Eastern Federal District.

Osipov had a whole year for the campaign. The presidential administration created him comfortable conditions, similar to those that they made in 2017 for the mayor of Vologda Andrei Travnikov, unexpectedly appointed in the Novosibirsk region.

Formally, Osipov went to the election by a self -nominee. But all 55 million rubles, officially received by him for the campaign, allocated funds related to United Russia.

The regional law did not allow self -nominated to run, but it was corrected. It was in a hurry that the changes in the charter of the region were accepted only on July 10, and the election of the governor was appointed on June 5. In the movement for the rights of voters, the Voice is sure that such a violation initially calls into question the legitimacy of Osipov’s nomination.

The Communist Party of the Communist Party Yuri Gaiduk did not register. He collected the required number of signatures of deputies, but provided autographs only from 17 districts, and not from 27, as regional law requires. The communist said that the collectors associated with the acting governor “cleaned” the areas by taking signatures in favor of Osipov and his sparring partner Yana Shpak (Party of Growth), Vyacheslav Uskova (“Patriots of Russia”) and Elena Krause (RPPSSS).

And then there was another scandal, which so far can be called the most loud in the governor's campaign in the 2019 election in Russia. Chita.ru journalists found out that the signatures of municipal deputies and chapters collected for the nomination of Osipov partially found themselves at Shpak, Krause and Ushakov so that they could pass the filter and compete with the Kremlin representative.

The deputies who said that they signed for Osipov, immediately accused the media of provocations, and said that they were always for Shpak and Ushakov. But then Chita.ru published new evidence of possible falsifications that question the legitimacy of the elections. As a result, the official reaction was limited only to sharp statements by the election commission and a complaint to the police against journalists. They provided all the information to the prosecutor's office, but so far - silence.

The CEC and the federal authorities seemed to defiantly ignored the situation in Transbaikalia.

Republic of Altai

Governor Alexander Berdnikov resigned in March 2019. He was to be elected for a new term, but already in 2014 he barely escaped the second round.

The chair of the acting head of the republic was taken by Oleg Khorokhordin, chairman of the Council of the Federal Network Operator in the field of navigation activities of the GLONASS. He was born in the neighboring Altai Territory and for a long time worked in the structures of the presidential administration, the Deputy Prime Ministers Secretariat and never elected anywhere, like Osipov.

The appointment of Khorokhordin was reminded of the translation of the head of the Krasnoyarsk government Viktor Tomenko to Altai Territory in 2018. But he had even less time for promotion before the elections, therefore, the inhabitants did not have enough a little to the second round. And this is provided that Tomenko had absolutely technical rivals without intelligible campaigns.

Khorokhordin, who moved from United Russia, has an opponent. The leader of the Communist Party of the Communist Party Viktor Romashkin is running for the fourth time. In addition, the election commander was registered by the deputy of the City Council of Gorno-Altaysk Dmitry Sofronov (LDPR), as Taiga.info predicted .
