A registered candidate for the City Duma was detained in Penza

In Penza, at about 8 am, two traffic police patrol cars blocked the car of Viktor Khomts, a candidate for the City Duma from the Communist Party. After that, five police officers detained the man. This was reported to OVD-Info by Sergey Padalkin.

Khomts was taken to police station No. 1, where a protocol was drawn up against him under part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (repeated violation of the rules of the action) due to a hunger strike in protest against falsifications in the preliminary voting. Eight registered candidates were detained on Lenin Square that day. At the same time, a protocol was drawn up for Chomtz in part 8, but the police who detained him in the morning said that the document needed to be corrected.

From the police department, the man was taken to the Leninsky District Court, accompanied by 12 police officers. The court granted the motion to adjourn the meeting.

Earlier, on September 5, the police checked Homtz's campaign materials when he delivered them to the entrances. On September 4, a protocol was drawn up against him on the dissemination of campaigning in violation of the law (Article 5.12 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
