Roskomnadzor drew up protocols against Lev Ponomarev and the movement “For Human Rights”

Roskomnadzor drew up reports against the movement “For Human Rights” and its head, human rights activist Lev Ponomarev, on violations of the law on “foreign agents” (Article 19.34 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). This is reported by MBH Media with reference to the head of the legal department of the movement "For Human Rights" Olga Zhukova, who explained:

They drew up two protocols in relation to the movement and the official, Lev Alexandrovich Ponomarev, under part 2 of article 19.34 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. It turned out that on the day the offense was discovered on the Facebook page, as they wrote in the protocol, there was information that the movement was entered in the register and was available at the end of June and all of August.

According to her, employees of Roskomnadzor “pressed the wrong button” when they looked at the Facebook page of the movement, but in the end decided to draw up protocols. Zhukova also noted, “We [the For Human Rights Movement] have decided that we will fight them [the accusations of Roskomnadzor] in court.”

Roskomnadzor previously stated that there was no information on the movement’s Facebook page that it was included in the register of foreign agents, after which representatives of For Human Rights were invited to the department’s department for the Central Federal District.

• In February, the Ministry of Justice added to the register of "foreign agents" the Foundation for the Protection of the Rights of Prisoners, the "Hot Line" and the "For Human Rights" movement.
• On April 24, the Meshchansky District Court fined For Human Rights 300,000 rubles for refusing to recognize itself as a foreign agent, and on August 15, it was fined 100,000 rubles for an article in Novaya Gazeta without a note about a “foreign agent.”
