The elections of mayors of cities and districts will be held in Siberia on September 8. Taiga.info recalls the most important campaigns and main scandals.
Novosibirsk
The current mayor Anatoly Lokot (Communist Party) won the election in 2014. He defeated the United Russia Vladimir Znatkov with the support of various political forces. After the triumph, the coalition was somewhat shattered-at first the vice mayor Ivan Starikov was not allowed to the governor’s elections and fired under the pressure of the regional authorities, then the elbow parted with his key deputy andrei Ksenzov, and the political deputy, Viktor Ignatov, went to the State Duma.
In 2018, the elbow was already not allowed to the election of the governor in exchange for the promise of the head of the region Andrei Travnikov to support him in the mayor's campaign. Ulan-Ude
The election of the mayor of Ulan-Ude will be held for the first time since 2007. In 2012, the authorities abolished the vote and introduced the position of the city manager, while the mayor of the City Council chose from their composition. In December 2018, the People’s Khural Buryatia abolished the city management and returned a direct vote.
Alexander Golkov, who for a long time headed the City Council, and then the city hall, resigned. The protege of the head of the republic Alexei Tsydenov Igor Shutenkov was appointed to fulfill the duties. He submitted documents for elections as a self -nominated person, but earlier for almost a year and a half was the first deputy chairman of the Buryatia government.

The most noticeable rival of Shutenkov was the Irkutsk senator, the leader of the Buryat communists Vyacheslav Markhaev. Irkutsk region and Khakassia
In the Angara, all the attention to the elections of the mayor of Tulun, who survived the giant flood in the summer of 2019. The current mayor Yuri Karikh (a self -nominated person who was previously elected from United Russia) will compete with the employee of the apparatus of Governor Sergey Levchenko Alexander Kutkov (Communist Party), entrepreneur Vadim Krasny (LDPR) and self -nominates Alexei Kolpakov, Ekaterina Gorbunova and Svetlana Vasilyeva. The Irkutsk region was one of the few in Siberia to maintain direct elections of the heads of cities and regions (except for Irkutsk itself).
Against the background of floods, the leader of the Irkutsk United Russia, Sergei Sokol, even tried to initiate the cancellation of the election of the mayor of Tulun. But after the humanitarian aid gathered by the inhabitants of Irkutsk for the victims of the flood, the “EP” stickers gathered, the proposal was somehow stalled by itself.

There will be a struggle in the election of the mayor of Bratsk. The current head of the city, one of the main opponents of the governor Sergei Levchenko, Sergey Serebrennikov went to a self -nominee. The deputy of the Legislative Assembly Svetlana Petruk (Communist Party), as well as Alexander Zubkov (“SR”), Evgeny Zemtsov (“Civil Platform”), Alexander Shaposhnikov (LDPR), Elena Romanova and Elena Surovina (self -nominated) are running against him. The former mayor of Alexander Serov, who won the elections with the support of the Communist Party in 2010, was not registered-he, recall, became a defendant in a criminal case of a bribe after refusing to join the EP and left the colony in 2017.
In Sayansk, United Russia did not put anyone. The current mayor Oleg Borovsky (Communist Party) will converge with the head of his MUP “Service for the preparation and provision of urban planning” Ivan Polyntsev (“SR”) and the deputy director of another municipal institution “Megapolis-Sport Center” Anton Syutkin (“Civil Platform”).
If in the Novosibirsk region the elections of the heads of districts are canceled, then in the Angara region they are preserved. Therefore, it is also worth following the elections of the mayor of the Ust-Ilim and Shelekhovsky districts. In total, new chapters will be elected in 12 areas.
In Khakassia, the election of the mayor of the SORSK will be held. In the 11,000th city, it turned out interesting-the only candidate from the party represents the “Communists of Russia” (the driver Dmitry Golubev). The remaining five are self -nominates: the inspector of the city OMVD Ekaterina Marochkina, the current mayor Vladimir Naydenov (member of the regional political council "ER"), mechanic Dmitry Polyakov, businessman Evgeny Sozykin and Rostelecom engineer Vasily Struganov.
In addition, the elections of the heads of the Askiz, Bograd and Ordzhonikidze districts of Khakassia will be held.
