Vyacheslav Shumeiko, a candidate for municipal deputies, was detained in St. Petersburg. This was reported to OVD-Info by a member of the election commission of the municipal district "Island of the Decembrists" Carolina Kelkel.
Shumeiko arrived at polling station No. 144 with his wife, where she was supposed to vote in accordance with the registration of his spouse. On one of the tables, he saw a propaganda newspaper, after which he removed it from the table. Then the police captain Nakhimovskaya called for a squad and Shumeiko was detained, explaining that he was violating public order.
Shumeiko was taken to police station No. 30. The police say that Shumeiko himself put the newspaper on the table of the PEC chairman and began taking pictures of her.
UPD 22:20 Vyacheslav Shumeiko was released from the police department after three hours. According to him, the police never received a statement against him from the polling station, and the policeman, who went to the polling station and looked at the records, was convinced of Shumeiko's innocence.
