Elections for the mayor of Novosibirsk are held with the worst turnout in 10 years

Turnout in Novosibirsk mayoral elections remains low. About 12% of voters voted five hours before the closing of polling stations.

The turnout in the election of the mayor of Novosibirsk by 15:00 was 12.03%, the city election committee reported. In 2014, by the same time, more than 18% had voted.

The residents of Sovetsky District (15.51%), Zheleznodorozhny (13.91%) and Central (13.59%) vote most actively. The smallest turnout is in Oktyabrsky and Leninsky districts (11.08% and 11.09%).

There are 15 names on the ballot: coordinator of Navalny's Novosibirsk headquarters Sergei Boyko (self-nominated), independent deputy of the city council Natalya Pinus (Russian People's Union), general director of Advokat-Plus LLC Alexander Gultyaev (Party of the Revival of Russia), former vice-mayor Daniyar Safiullin ( "Motherland"), Deputy of the Legislative Assembly Daria Ukraintseva ("The Greens"), Acting Mayor Anatoly Lokot (KPRF), City Council Deputy Yevgeny Lebedev (LDPR), former Deputy Governor Viktor Kozodoy ("Fair Russia"), TV presenter Yulia Sapina ("Civic Platform" ), social activist Oleg Viktorovich (Party of Affairs), individual entrepreneur Andrei Tokarev (Native Party), publicist Dmitry Kholyavchenko (Yabloko), lawyer Alexei Krestyanov (Agrarian Party of Russia), general director of Imperial Stroy LLC Mukhammed-Ali Khayurin (Renaissance Party villages) and the head of the regional branch of the "Communists of Russia" Sergei Loskutov.
