Multiple violations related to bribery and the transportation of voters were recorded by Golos observers at the elections to the Irkutsk City Duma, Aleksey Petrov, the regional coordinator of the movement, told Taiga.info.
“Almost every polling station is surrounded by some obscure people, not always neatly dressed, waiting for this good hour [payment],” Petrov said. - What has been in recent years, it just blooms today in Irkutsk all day long at almost all polling stations. There is not a single constituency where one could say that the elections are clean.”
According to Petrov, observers also record violations in Bratsk, where a mayor is elected on September 8. Golos knows about ten vehicles transporting voters.
“In Irkutsk, the police are quite active. I even know that in some areas these people [engaged in bribery and transportation] are detained,” Petrov added.
The city election committee of Irkutsk told Taiga.info that “they can’t look at the magazine right now,” which records the complaints received.
The fraternal electoral committee and the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs did not answer the editorial calls.
