Queen of Great Britain approves bill to ban hard Brexit

Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain has approved a bill that prohibits the country from leaving the European Union without a deal on October 31. This was reported by the House of Lords, the upper house of the British parliament.

• The British parliament approved a bill to stop a hard Brexit last week. Prime Minister Boris Johnson then proposed holding an early parliamentary election, but his initiative failed to gain the support of the required number of MPs.
• On September 9, the UK parliament will suspend its work for more than a month. Permission for this was given by Elizabeth II at the request of Boris Johnson in late August. It was assumed that the prime minister was thus trying to prevent parliament from blocking a no-deal Brexit on October 31.
