Leningrad region: The head of the district received nine years in prison for a bribe

The head of the Podporozhsky district of the Leningrad Region, Peter Levin, was found guilty of receiving a bribe, the regional department of the Investigative Committee reports . The former official was sentenced to nine years in a strict regime colony. The court also ordered him to pay a fine of 10 million rubles.

As follows from the case file, Levin demanded from representatives of the BSK company, which repaired the school as part of the state contract, a bribe of eight million rubles for signing acts of work performed.

In July 2017, the head of the district received 600 thousand rubles, and a month later demanded to transfer another 5.2 million rubles through his assistant Ivan Zuev. Zuev was detained by the UFSB officers immediately after receiving a bribe.

Levin was found guilty of bribery, Zuev was punished as an intermediary. The latter was obliged to pay 35 million rubles of a fine.
