In St. Petersburg, the Kuibyshevsky District Court terminated the administrative case against activist Alexei Solovyov. He was detained with the Puding ENT poster during the rally in defense of journalist Ivan Golunov and against police arbitrariness on June 23.
Solovyov in court said that he went to a single picket and, "using freedom of speech" in the country, wrote on the poster the phrase "Puding ENT". Police officers during the detention presented the activist that his picket is anti -government, reports MBH Media . The court eventually admitted that in the actions of the activist there was no composition of the offense and terminated the case.
Alexei Solovyov was detained in the evening of June 23 during the rally in defense of the Moscow journalist of the Meduza publication Ivan Golunov and against police arbitrariness.
The case of Ivan Golunov is a criminal case against the journalist of the publication Meduza, who was accused of trying to sell drugs. The press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the official website published photos of the drug laboratories that were allegedly taken in the apartment of Golunov. Later the pictures were deleted.
The journalist himself and representatives of the public believe that the case became revenge for the investigation that Golunov published. Disagreements with accusations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs went to rallies and single pickets in defense of Golunov. Many Russian and foreign media and public persons also spoke out against the persecution of the journalist.
Five days after the initiation of the criminal case of the Ministry of Internal Affairs removed all the charges from the correspondent due to the lack of evidence of guilt. After the case of Golunov, four police officers were fired in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was brought to disciplinary liability.
