In Ulan-Ude, about 15 participants of a spontaneous rally, which has been going on since September 9, were detained.
The arrests were made at about 2 am local time. According to Novaya Gazeta, the Russian Guard threw a smoke bomb into the bus where the protesters were sleeping, and then began to severely detain people running out of there.
Among the detainees is the deputy of the regional parliament Bair Tsyrenov.
- A spontaneous rally in Ulan-Ude began on 9 September. First, its participants demanded the release of the detained associates of the “shaman-warrior” from Yakutsk Alexander Gabyshev. Later, this was supplemented by the requirement to hold re-elections of the mayor of the city.
- On the afternoon of September 11, Tsyrenov was fined 15,000 rubles for participating in an unsanctioned rally. Another demonstrator, Dmitry Bairov, was arrested for five days.
