Former air defense commander in the city of Snezhnoye Vladimir Tsemakh received the status of a suspect in the case of the crash of a Boeing over the Donbass being investigated by the Netherlands. Earlier it was reported that Tsemakh has the status of a key witness in the case.
As Dutch MEP Kati Piri told Deutsche Welle, Tsemakh's status changed due to some information that the Dutch prosecutor's office received this summer.
- Volodymyr Tsemakh was among the 35 people Ukraine handed over to Russia as part of a September 7 prisoner exchange . According to media reports, the presence of Tsemakh in the lists for the exchange was a fundamental condition for Moscow, which otherwise allegedly threatened to refuse to carry it out altogether.
- Kati Piri was the author of an open letter signed by 40 MEPs on 4 September. In it, they asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky not to transfer Tsemakh to Russia.
