The latest history of Russia brought to the public advance those who were previously fastened to all buttons. Professional diplomats of different levels and dignity have become heroes of mass culture. Maria Zakharova is almost as legendary as Chapaev. Dmitry Peskov is invariably disassembled by quotes, as his colleague Alexander Griboedov once. The graduate of MGIMO Ksenia Sobchak completely turned her life into an endless reality show with the subsequent monetization of each word, gesture, sigh, husband.
Such a rapid rethinking of the role of elite experts is at the same time interest and surprise. The other day, the audience got the opportunity to satisfy both of these feelings. The first channel on the opening of the television season showed the series "Diplomat", which tells about the life of celestials directly in the Foreign Ministry on Smolenka and the environs.

I will make a reservation right away: large -scale, in sixteen episodes, the canvas of director Yuri Kuzmenko is far from a masterpiece. The film suffers from many generic shortcomings of the genre: a modest palette of plot moves; script negligence; The abundance of passing, poorly prescribed characters. Especially it did not work out that it never turns out, that is, the connection of the actual satire and grotesque with a dreary melodrama. Which, however, does not cancel the main thing:
The film (funny, and in places and very ridiculous) sheds light on thin nuances, let's call it so, Russian foreign policy, a renewed titanic struggle with the outside world.
The main character, a hereditary diplomat (they are all hereditary, they do not hold others) archers, the head of the department of special projects, is an indefatigable womanizer. By the end of the series, both he and the audience will finally be confused in his mistresses. With some, he sleeps at the behest of his heart, with others - at the behest of duty. The last circumstance seems to be part of the diplomatic etiquette. You can’t please Madame Vanderbilt from the Netherlands - you will not sign the coveted contract.

The content of the Midovo negotiations with the aim of signing these same contracts is not less than the adventures of a 50-year-old foreign policy player. From the Netherlands, Russia purchases seed potatoes and turnips. The president of the African country is the tireless department of special projects flows reagents from ice. When fate throws Luchnikov with a consul into the Arctic, he demonstrates miracles of effectiveness here. First of all, Kotu's Norwegian colleague is in the guise of a unique Siberian fox. While the consul holds the verdict with the state seal regarding the authenticity of the animal, the "arctic fox" is accepted frantically to meow.
However, the consul considers the glorification of domestic culture in the Arctic’s main mission in the Arctic. To this end, he bears (in his free from ladies and cats mowing under the foxes, time) the project of the Plisetskaya monument. Against his background, Tsereteli looks like a miserable author of small forms. A 100-meter monument made of Ural gems is installed on a highlighted pedestal. And while Plisetskaya on one leg rotates among the eternal permafrost, the camer West sprinkles with ash from the greatness of the plan.
The entire series of the Foreign Ministry is seething in boiling inaction. The internal policy of the institution is as fruitful as the foreign. The local population mainly consists of relatives and friends.
If your dad is friends “you yourself know with whom,” then his daughter will certainly be hired, despite the fact that she stuttering to fainting.
The authors of the film not without wit are beaten with the help of casting. Cast-as many as three representatives of the acting dynasty of Lazarev (son Alexander, daughter Polina, mother Svetlana Nemolyaeva), Pavel Tabakov, Sofya Evstigneeva, Alika Smekhova, Alexander Domogarov Jr.

The transition from art to life is fraught with insights. Having fallen to the origins of diplomacy through the series, you begin to better understand how and by whom the magical foreign policy is performing, which has turned the country into a fortress surrounded by enemies in a short time. You can no longer tremble every time, watching the manners and speeches in high international instances Nebenzi or, worse, Safronkov with his immortal replica to the British representative: "Look to me in the eye." The media image of Maria Zakharova becomes more understandable. You begin to support Chubais, who offered to replace Zakharov and Buzov. Anatoly Borisovich is right: both compose, sing, dance, only Olga is much more popular, she has millions of fans. The proposal is promising, but premature. As another career diplomat, Dmitry Peskov, noted on another reason, now "the pace of falls stabilized."
It is said for all times. The stabilized pace of falling is the essence of the internal and foreign policy of the power. Her powerful diplomatic corps, which the audience saw from the inside thanks to the series "Diplomat", is ready to forever support this status quo.
I still have one question: the Foreign Ministry is not going to hand a note of protest to the producer of the film Konstantin Ernst?
