The Alexandrov Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian (formerly Soviet) Army is known throughout the world. Its artists usually perform to classical and folk music. But what if they slightly change their repertoire - and include songs by Britney Spears? Or Gorillaz. Or even Emsy Hammer!
This is exactly what the host of the “Soviet soldiers are dancing” Twitter account (although they are not soldiers), to which more than 90 thousand people have subscribed since August 2019, is doing. Every day there appear recordings of archive performances of the ensemble, on which fragments of famous hits are superimposed. And you know what? Dancers almost everywhere still get into the rhythm. Take a look yourself!
