The head of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Trans -Baikal Territory, Oleg Nekrasov, canceled the construction of the largest garbage training ground in the region near Lake Tasei, the Chita.ru agency said with reference to activist Yevgeny Kornev.

In the Padai Monga, located 12 kilometers from Lake Tasei and 30 from Chita, it was planned to build the largest garbage training ground in the region. Its capacity exceeded 46% of the total capacity of all landfills in the region and would be 5.3 million tons.

Kornev added that now social activists will help the Ministry of Natural Resources implement garbage reform. To do this, they will create a public council to participate in solving problems like building factories or finding new places to create a training ground.

Social activists opposed the construction of the training ground in this place. On September 20, activist Marina Sukhina held a single picket against the construction of the landfill there. The deputies of the regional legislative assembly demanded that the public hearings on the construction of the garbage training ground in the Padai Mong one.
