Large -scale campaign against the Corruption Foundation: Criminal cases and hundreds of searches

On the morning of September 12, in dozens of regions, people in masks and weapons began to burst home to political activists. The security forces came with searches for the coordinators of Navalny’s headquarters, volunteers and their relatives. Operational measures were held as part of a criminal case against the FBK on laundering money. This event became one of the series of others - within the framework of a consistent campaign of power pressure, deployed in the summer against the FBK.

"Smart Voting" and elections to the Moscow City Duma

At the end of November 2018, the founder of the FBK Alexei Navalny announced the launch of the Smart Voting project. The purpose of the project is to deprive the United Russia votes in the regional elections in September 2019. A few days later, the project website blocked Roskomnadzor.

In the spring of 2019, the director of the FBK Ivan Zhdanov and the general producer “Navalny Live” and the FBK lawyer Lyubov Sobol, said about his intention to participate in the Moscow City Duma. Both were not allowed to participate in the elections allegedly due to the fact that Sobol and Zhdanov provided a large number of invalid signatures collected for their nomination to the Moscow City Duma.

The Mosgorisburkom said that more than 10% of the signature sheets of candidates (permissible amount of marriage- ATS-info )-defective. That is, they are filled with errors or citizens living in other electoral districts, or dead people. For similar reasons, other opposition candidates were not allowed to elections to the Moscow City Duma.

On July 14, unregistered candidates met with voters with the Moscow City Work Committee. On that day, police officers
39 people were detained , at least eight detainees were beaten by security forces.

After that, the opposition announced that on July 27, an action would be held in support of the non -possessed candidates. Three days before the promotion, the UK opened a criminal case on the prevention of the election of the election commission. Zhdanov and Sable were interrogated as witnesses on this matter.

On the day of protest on July 27, police broke into the Navalny Live studio

The policy of Alexei Navalny was arrested on July 24 for 30 days. The court found him guilty of calls to participate in a “inconsistent” protest.

On July 26, the security forces came to the headquarters of Zhdanov and Sobol and conducted a search there - as part of a criminal case of obstruction of the ex -Russian activity. The next day, Zhdanov and Sobol were detained in front of the action, then released and detained already for shares.

The start of the protest was scheduled for two in the afternoon. “Navalny Live” in the morning illuminated what was happening in Moscow. At 14:17, a video was published on the Twitter of the Political YouTube Channel, which shows police officers and the investigative committee at the studio door.

After an hour and a half, the security forces cut the door and began to conduct a search in the studio as part of the same criminal case. The online broadcast conducted by Navalny Live about the protest in Moscow was interrupted, but 1.3 million spectators watched it. The equipment was removed from the studio, and the employees of Navalny Live and the FBK were detained and delivered to the Danilovsky police department.

On August 3, a criminal case on laundering a billion rubles was instituted against FBK employees

Exactly a week later, on the day of a large -scale protest in Moscow, the UK reported the initiation of a criminal case against employees of the FBK. They were accused of laundering a billion rubles (paragraph “b” of part 4 of article 174 of the Criminal Code).

The security forces claim that from January 2016 to December 2018, FBK employees received money, allegedly purchased by criminal means. Then they contributed this money through ATMs to the accounts of several banks and used it for the work of the fund.

After the action on July 27, the SK opened a criminal case of riots (in three parts of Article 212 of the Criminal Code) against unidentified persons. Later it will receive the name "Moscow business." Sobol supporters became his defendants, including Alexei Minyailo, who worked in the campaign headquarters, and Sergey Fomin, who collected signatures for her nomination.

On the day of the action on August 3, the police came to the signature collection center, detained sable and questioned the case of “riots” as a witness.

On the morning of August 8, searches began as part of a criminal case on laundering

The searches took place in the apartments with the FBK employees, in the office of the fund, as well as in the company that was engaged in the accounting department of the FBK.

In the apartments to some employees of the FBK did not let lawyers. The security forces beat the lawyer of the Fund Alexander Pamazuev during a search of the lawyer. An employee of the office of the office Ilya Ulyanov also suffered. He simply passed by, but he was beaten , and then sent under administrative arrest for eight days.

On the day of the search , more than a hundred bank accounts were arrested : the FBC and its employees, as well as the headquarters of Navalny in Russia. After the arrest of funds, it became known that in the case, probably, we are talking about laundering 75 million rubles, and not about a billion, as the UK previously reported.

FBK project manager Leonid Volkov wrote on his Facebook that 75 million is the money that the fund donated to the bitcoins. The cryptocurrency exchanged for rubles and they were entered into the accounts of Volkov and some employees of the FBK.

The search in the office of the FBK continued for more than 11 hours. After the searches, many FBK employees were interrogated. Volkov said that 17 thousand rubles were stolen from the office, apparently security forces.

During the protest campaign on August 10, the security forces came to the reserve studio "Navalny Live"

The police and the SOBR came to the apartment in which the Navalny Live studio was located, ten minutes before the start of the broadcast. They broke the door, laid on the floor of all inside - ten channel officers and FBK - and began to search the room. The detainees were used by force: they dragged the floor on the floor, and one of the men was hit in the groin with a boot.

The next four and a half hours, all people who were in the apartment faced the floor on the floor and with their hands behind their heads. All this time, a lawyer was not allowed to go to them.

The search was held as part of a criminal case of "riots." Employees of Navalny Live and FBK seized mobile phones, computers, bank cards. After the search, the detainees were taken to the police department, from where they were released at about ten in the evening.

Also on the day of the action on August 10, the police broke into the center for the collection of Lyubov Sobol signatures, searched there, and the opposition was detained to draw up an administrative protocol for the action on August 3 (part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

By mid -August, the director of the FBK and the unregistered candidate for the Moscow City Duma Ivan Zhdanov held for administrative arrest for 15 days - he was charged with the participation of the action on July 27.

Sable was obliged to pay fines totaling 930 thousand rubles. She was charged with the organization of protests.

Investigative actions in the money laundering case were resumed on August 21

In St. Petersburg, the head of the sociological service of the FBK and the wife of Leonid Volkov, Anna Biryukova, was detained and interrogated . The security forces searched her room, seized a bank card and a mobile phone. After interrogation, Biryukov was released.

On August 28, a criminal case was opened against the director of the FBK

Ivan Zhdanovbecame a defendant in the case of malicious non -fulfillment of the court decision (part 2 of article 315 of the Criminal Code). According to the lawyer, the case was opened due to the fact that Zhdanov, as the head of the FBC, does not remove the film “He is not Dimon for you” from the Internet. On September 17, Zhdanov was questioned as a suspect.

In February 2019, a similar criminal case was opened against the former director of the FBK Roman Rubanov. He was put on the wanted list. Rubanov left Russia at the end of December 2018.

The court decision was made back in May 2017 at the suit of billionaire Alisher Usmanov. The entrepreneur won the court of the FBK, according to which the fund was supposed to delete part of the investigation "He is not Dimon to you." The investigation refers to the expensive gifts of Usmanov to Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

On September 12, more than 200 searches were held in 43 cities of Russia with Navalny supporters

The searches began early in the morning and immediately throughout the country - as part of a criminal case of laundering money. The security forces came to the 43 regional headquarters of a politician, as well as home to the coordinators of the headquarters, volunteers and their relatives.

From the headquarters, houses of coordinators and volunteers, police officers seized computers and smartphones. The technique was also seized with relatives of Navalny's supporters, who found themselves indoors during the search. Employees of regional headquarters blocked personal bank accounts - each for 75 million rubles. After searches, staff and volunteers were interrogated in the UK.

During searches in different regions of the country, Navalny supporters were humiliated - for example, in Chelyabinsk they were called monkeys. It is also known about the use of physical strength to the detainees: someone was dragged on the floor, they raised their heads by the hair; In Saransk, the operative after the search moved by car of the headquarters of the headquarters.

Also on September 12, searches in the case of money laundering were held by the coordinators of the Voice movement - in Kazan and Saratov. In addition, the search was held at home with the parents of the Krasnodar journalist Alexander Savelyev. Several of his bank accounts blocked 75 million rubles each. It is not known how they are connected with the case of laundering money.

The court authorized dozens of searches. They will probably pass again with the supporters of Navalny

On September 16, the Basmanny Court considered 44 applications for the investigation about searches in the case of laundering money. 42 of them - about the search in the dwelling, and two - about conducting a personal search.

The petitions were considered by four judges. Analysts at the OTD-info calculated that Judge Safina examined more than all petitions. In less than an hour, she examined 15 petitions for a search: if you use the time indicated on the court website, then she considered two decisions at the same time, most of the rest took a minute.

Judge Karpov examined 12 petitions, on each of them he spent several minutes. Judge Dudar satisfied 9 petitions in 20 minutes. Judge Kournosova considered 8 petitions - in the evening, after 20:00 - while officially the court no longer works at this time.

On September 19, in Moscow, police detained the director of the FBK Ivan Zhdanov

This happened right at his house. In the evening of the same day, the Meshchansky District Court sent the policy to get to the eight days of administrative arrest.

The fact is that 10 days of administrative arrest for the action on July 27, Zhdanov was appointed on August 9. At that moment, he was already serving in the special reception of 15 days of arrest - awarded to him for the same action.

On August 13, Zhdanov left the special receiver, having left for the first 15 days. Nobody began to detain him, and he just left. On September 19, the court decided that Zhdanov should leave the administrative arrest appointed to him on August 9.

On the morning of September 23, a search was held at the coordinator of the headquarters of Navalny in Omsk

The police came home to Olga Kartavtseva at 7:30 in the morning. During the search, a mobile phone was seized from her, then the womanwas interrogated in the investigative committee as a witness and released. Probably, the search and interrogation were held as part of a criminal case of money laundering. On Twitter of the regional headquarters, it is noted that Kartavtseva returned from St. Petersburg the night before, where she helped with surveillance in the elections.
