Cherry gardens

So autumn has come, we freeze in unheated rooms, and people with an unstable psyche have a seasonal aggravation. Including people from the scientific environment, and in people with regalia. In particular, a group of forever dissatisfied academicians, called the July 1 club, issued two statements since the beginning of September. I’ll tell you about the first a little later, I’ll start with the second, in which we are talking about the request of the structure of Dom.rf, which came to academic institutes.

The essence of the matter is simple. The government has an idea to create a single government complex in Moscow City, but money is needed. I do not want to take money from the budget, since the budget needs to maintain military, students and pensioners, help Syria and Venezuela, so there was an idea to finance the creation of this complex from the sale of exempted federal property - plots and buildings. And now the list of such property is being compiled, some scientific organizations have been in the preliminary list.

And so academicians feverishly scribble an open letter to the President of Russia: “... And the Putites of your officials do not know the limits. The office with the mocking call sign Dom.RF, serving the apartment interests of the highest nomenclature, ordered to free up space for its customers ... The old should die. Cherry gardens should be cut down. “New Russia” does not need culture, does not need science, neither the mind, nor honor, nor conscience need ... Why should the “Putin’s century” remain as the era of farewell precisely with the centuries of Peter and Catherine, with sciences and arts, with the civilizational and progressive project, with honor and justice? "

When I read this, I almost fell from the chair. It is necessary to put everything upside down, on such an insignificant material to draw such meaningless and global conclusions?! Even if they demolish the building of the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences and build an elite skyscraper in its place, what will happen: the geography in Russia will cease to exist? Geographers will move to some Troitsk-and all for a short time. It would be good for the authors of this open letter in their heads to cut down the cherry gardens - they are very running and are not able to bear any normally! Then they will understand that there is nothing to do fruit gardens in the center of Moscow, much more for this is the suburbs.

The previous statement was made a week earlier, and this is felt: the fall was just entering its own rights and the text came out shorter and restrained, without crying Yaroslavna. Although in that statement the question was raised about the prospect of cutting down another “cherry garden” - RFFI. However, here, academics did not deny themselves the pleasure of giving a rooster, writing: “ At that time, as applied studies are supported by a number of funds, starting with the RNF, only the RFFIA supports search grains in fundamental science .” Apparently, the venerable scientist is not aware that the RNF is also engaged in the support of fundamental research.

However, not only members of the July 1 club stood up to defense of the RFFF: the Academic Trade Union made a statement, and the Society of Scientists even began the collection of signatures in support of the Fund. What is the matter? It turns out that the proposal is discussed to transfer almost all grant financing of fundamental science in the RNF, and the RFFI to leave analytical functions and support of different Russian-Mongolian and Russian-Belarusian projects.

Hence, some of our colleagues concluded that the most massive Grants of the RFFIF in areas of knowledge and all sorts of projects for youth such as “My First Grant” will disappear. Why they decided so, I don’t know, it is quite possible to imagine that the RNF will continue to give out such grants. Although it is not clear why: what serious study can be performed for half a million or a million rubles a year?

The statements say that such important decisions cannot be made without public discussion. Let me, gentlemen, but how can you give the adoption of important decisions at the drill for the crowd and different sorlopans? The rapid strengthening of our country in recent decades is due to the fact that decisions in our country are made not on the requirement of the crowd, but based on the highest state reasons. Even the parliament we have no longer a place for discussions, and it is clear why: a country where discussions in parliament are the norm is not even able to leave the European Union on time. Therefore, colleagues, calm down: it is not for us to decide which cherry gardens to cut down, but to state people set for these purposes.
