The court extended the preventive measure for Yegor Zhukov and Samariddin Radzhabov

The Basmanny District Court of Moscow extended the measure of restraint for those involved in the case of mass riots in connection with the action on July 27, Yegor Zhukov and Samariddin Radjabov. It is reported by Mediazona.

The petition of the investigation to extend Zhukov's house arrest and Radjabov's detention in the pre-trial detention center for another three months was considered by judge Natalya Dudar in one meeting. Zhukov is accused of public calls for extremism (Part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code), Radjabov of participating in mass riots (Part 2 of Article 212), he is also charged with attempted violence against a policeman (Article 318 with the application of Part 3 of Article 30 of the Criminal Code).

Representatives of the prosecutor's office and investigators spoke at the meeting. At the same time, a representative of the prosecutor's office stated that a case had been opened against Yegor Zhukov under the article on mass riots, but the investigator later clarified that the case against Zhukov was closed on these charges.

Radjabov's lawyer Anri Tsiskarishvili urged the court to choose a milder measure of restraint for his client, also pointing out that the term "mass riots" is gradually disappearing from the case file: how this constitutes a corpus delicti under Article 212.

Zhukov's lawyer Ilya Novikov asked the court to release his client on bail of one million rubles. He also stated that the videos, which became the reason for initiating a case against Zhukov under an extremist article, were sent for examination as part of the case of mass riots. That is, procedurally, according to Novikov, it was completely illegal.

The judge considered the arguments of the investigation reasonable and granted the petition. Zhukov will remain under house arrest until December 27, while Radjabov will be in jail until the same day.

• Earlier, on September 25, the Moscow City Court held hearings on a complaint by Zhukov's defense against the decision of the Basmanny Court to search his apartment again. According to lawyer Novikov, the search was carried out as part of the case of mass riots, but the investigators, having no procedural grounds for this, were looking for evidence in the case of public calls for extremism. The investigators misled the Basmanny Court in this way. The Moscow City Court, however, sided with the investigation.
