The US imposed new sanctions against Russia over the supply of aviation fuel to Syria

The United States has expanded sanctions designed to prevent the supply of aviation fuel to the Russian group in Syria. The main object of the new sanctions was Maritime Assistance, which the US authorities consider to be a shell company of the previously blacklisted Sovfrakht.

in 2018 Sanctions have also been imposed against three Russian citizens Ivan Okorokov, Karen Stepanyan and Ilya Loginov, who were already charged with supplying fuel in circumvention of sanctions.

Five Russian vessels were also blacklisted: Iaz, Sig, Sudak, Passat and OT-2077, which belong to the previously blocked Transpetrochart.
