Seven defendants in the Penza “Network” case had their arrest extended until January 2020

On September 26, the Volga District Military Court extended the arrest of seven defendants in the Penza Network case until January 3, 2020. This is reported by the publication "7 × 7" with reference to the lawyers of the defendants.

Ilya Shakursky, Vasily Kuksov, Andrey Chernov, Dmitry Pchelintsev, Mikhail Kulkov, Arman Sagynbaev and Maxim Ivankin are accused of creating the Penza branch of the Set terrorist group. The defense asked to change their preventive measure to house arrest for lack of evidence of criminal activity. In addition, the defendants said that over the two years of their life in the pre-trial detention center, their health had deteriorated, and they were denied proper medical care.
