Roskomnadzor blocked the website of the Fergana agency
Roskomnadzor has blocked access to the Fergana agency website. The publication has been added to the unified register of prohibited information. The information about the blocking was confirmed to Meduza by Fergana founder and CEO Daniil Kislov.
The agency reported that access to the site was restricted on the evening of October 1. The editorial staff of Fergana claims that it did not receive a warning from Roskomnadzor and does not know the reasons for the blocking.
"The blocking came as a complete surprise to us, we will look into the situation. We have already sent a request to Roskomnadzor demanding an explanation as to why access to the site was restricted without warning," said Fergana editor-in-chief Maria Dubnova.
So far, Fergana has had only one conflict with Roskomnadzor, and it is still being resolved: on October 2, a magistrate court will consider whether the editor-in-chief of the publication should be fined for the fact that Fergana did not indicate that the Turkmen Society of Jehovah's Witnesses is banned in the Russian Federation (the Turkmen Society is not on the official list of organizations recognized as extremist in Russia).
