Director of the Federal Penitentiary Service Gennady Kornienko was dismissed. This was reported by Interfax , Moskovsky Komsomolets and RBC , citing sources. The information was confirmed by the Deputy Chairman of the PMC of Moscow, Eva Merkacheva.

According to RBC, Russian President Vladimir Putin dismissed not only Kornienko, but also a number of other senior officials.
