A sentence was passed in Udmurtia for “preparing to participate” in Moscow “mass riots”

The Votkinsky District Court found Alexander Levin, a resident of Udmurtia, guilty of preparing to participate in mass riots in Moscow, the reports . Udm-info publication

The court considered that Alexander Levin was preparing to participate in mass riots, but “the crime was not carried through to the end due to circumstances beyond the control of this person” (part 1 of article 30, part 2 of article 212 of the Criminal Code), and appointed him two years conditional term.

The basis for the accusation was the information that from October 2018 to May 2019 Alexander Levin watched a channel on YouTube, which “described the socio-political conflict in the form of dissatisfaction with supporters of the overthrow of the government”, and in the comments they planned to arrange riots at the actions 9 May 2019.

According to the court, under the influence of YouTube videos, Alexander Levin decided to participate in "mass riots" and invited friends to join. He went to Moscow with two other citizens in May 2019, but Levin was prevented from reaching the capital by traffic police in Udmurtia.
