The Meshchansky District Court fined Lev Ponomarev, the head of the fund of the movement For Human Rights, 100 thousand rubles, and the movement itself 300 thousand rubles under the article on violation of the law on “foreign agents” (part 2 of article 19.34 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). This time, Roskomnadzor filed a lawsuit due to the publication of Lev Ponomarev's personal blog on the Ekho Moskvy website dated May 28, 2019. Ponomarev turned to readers with a request to help raise money for the movement "For Human Rights" to pay fines. Roskomnadzor considered that Ponomarev spoke about the movement without mentioning that it was recognized as a foreign agent.

In February, the Ministry of Justice added to the register of "foreign agents" the Foundation for the Protection of the Rights of Prisoners, the "Hot Line" and the "For Human Rights" movement.

On September 24, the same court fined For Human Rights 100,000 rubles , allegedly because the organization's website did not mention the status of a foreign agent. Olga Zhukova, head of the fund's legal department, said that a mention of the status was posted on the website and on the Facebook page back in July 2019.
