“Direct Lessons” - the festival, which is now taking place as part of the Biennale of Theater Arts in Moscow, is so slightly mysterious. However, its essence and task have nothing to do with the slightly dull meaning of the word "lessons". “UR” is that which explodes the usual reality of life and scenes, drives despondency, turns “the eyes of pupils into the soul” and teaches to build the world.

“UR” - these are the lessons of building the world - its own, unlike anyone, purely individual. Moreover, everything around, wherever you look, is directing.

Participants in the Fest Competition Program are young directors from all over Russia. They still do not have loud names, but there is talent, which means that it is they who will determine the face of the day of tomorrow.

Young for young people are an unspoken motto of “Direct lessons”. And this involves the courage of decisions and the sharpness of the gaze. But the performances "UR" will be interesting to everyone who appreciates the Art Theater. In the broadest sense of this capacious word. Among the works of young directors, it happened by itself, a lot of “school” classics, but - without a shadow of textbook boredom, on the contrary - brightly, unexpectedly, with a drive.

The program has 16 performances. Five - created in Moscow. The rest are from the hinterland. Among them are the daring "Seagull" on the stage of Mtuuz from Rossosh (director Gret Shushchevichuta) and the acute -modern "man from Podolsk" (Semen Serzin) on the stage of Ramta from Yaroslavl. And also chamber: “Golovlev” from Kansk with the subtitle “The terrible fairy tale” (Artem Galushin), the piercing “meek” from Yekaterinburg (Dmitry Zimin), which causes “fragments of love speech” (Polina Cardimon) from Novosibirsk ... among 16 performances, composed in the capital and provinces, there are not a single non -talented one. The texts are based on productions - from Dostoevsky to Roland Bart, from Chekhov to Garcia Marquez.

The festival (and this is a special “feature” “UR”) of the jury of undeniable masters: Alexei Borodin, George Isaacan, Dmitry Krymov, Grigory Kozlov, Rimas Tuminas, Adolf Shapiro, Boris Morozov.

On Monday, October 7, in Moscow, the performance of the Roman Gabria Meyerhold from St. Petersburg starts the touring program of the festival.
