On November 5, 2017, 18-year-old Yang Sidorov and 21-year-old Vlad Mordasov went to Square Square opposite the building of the Government of the Rostov Region. In the backpacks they had two posters made by hand, and a megaphone. After a little thought, they turned Watman, on which they wrote on the eve: "Return the land to the Rostov Pogorelians." The guys were immediately surrounded by people, they began to shoot them on the phone. As it turned out later, among the shooting were the employees of the Center for Combating Extremism. As soon as the poster was deployed, the guys were detained and taken from the square. On the second poster it was written: "The government is resigned."
The next day, young people were brought to the Kirovsky District Court, where they received seven days of administrative arrest for violation of the rules of public actions.
But from IvS, young people left for a pre -trial detention center. By that time, a criminal case was opened against Mordasov, Sidorov and their friend Vyacheslav Shamshin under Art. 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Employment on the organization of riots"). Moreover, the first two signed a confession under an article that provides for up to 12 years in prison.
During the investigation, young people were placed in jail. Vyacheslav Shamshin, who was with young people in correspondence, was detained near the venue of the action, and he waited for house arrest. The investigation lasted more than a year and a half, the trial of the group began in June 2019. The prosecution said that the real purpose of young people to the square was an attempt to provoke mass riots in Rostov
And together with like -minded people throughout Russia, the existing constitutional system jeopardizes.
Even at the stage of investigation on courts to extend the preventive measure, Yang and Vlad declared unprecedented pressure on them, told how, during the serving of administrative sentences, the CPE officers came to the camera and in how they achieved confessions.

After serving in the army, Vlad Mordasov returned to his native Bataysk and tried to get a job. It was not easy to do this, his mother Marina Mordasova says: because of the conflict with the school principal, he quit his studies after the 10th grade.
“From childhood he has a heightened sense of justice, and all the problems at school have always been because of this,” says Marina. - And the character is such that you cannot stroke against the wool.
Mom believes that her son was greatly influenced by the suicide of his grandfather, who replaced his father.
“We didn’t even know, and my grandfather, it turns out, was very ill,” the woman hardly restrains her tears. - He had severe pains, he suffered, but did not go to the doctors. Well, how can I tell you? .. With money, we don’t really have money, therefore, probably, I didn’t want to burden us. So he wrote: I'm sorry, I can’t stand it anymore ... For Vlad, it was a very strong blow. I think that after that he became interested in this "policy."
By “politics”, Marina means the “Revolution 5/11/17” chat, which Yang and Vlad was created in October 2017, having met other Rostovites under the videos of the recognized extremist and prohibited “artillery” Vyacheslav Maltsev in Russia. In 2017, he declared on November 5 the beginning of the new Russian revolution - hence the name of the chat.
“The chat quickly ceased to be the place of discussion of Maltsev and began to turn into a group of oppositional children who wanted to go to a peaceful action,” Vlad Mordasov said in court. - A few days later, radical provocateurs began to appear in the chat. They believed that Maltsev called for a bloody revolution and armed resistance, although he never called for this. I did not share these views, made them comments, deleted it from the chat, and put on a blacklist. The chat also had an adequate audience, which was interested in the acute problems of our region.

Behind young people began surveillance. They understood this a few days before the detention.
Some unfamiliar man called Vlad and began to ask strange questions: where does he live, what was going to do? Fearing provocations and arrest, Vlad spent one night at Yana Sidorov.
They were sure that they did not do anything illegal. And when they were taken away from the square, they understood only one thing - Art. 31 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation in Russia does not work, no freedom of assembly exists.

- the operative of the EE center Andrei Shipko pre -shouted me pre -shouted at me, and then they took me for interrogation.“Do you know who we are? - asked (operational employee of the Center "E" Valentin) Krasnokutsky. “We are an Estapo.”
They did not like my answers. Krasnokutsky beat me with his palms on his cheeks and fists into a solar plexus, strangled me from the back and whispered something in his ear. I did not understand why all this was happening to me, because I did nothing. I did not even read the final act of the survey. They just told me to sign it. This went on for four hours, ”said Vlad Mordasov (quote for“ MBH-Media ”), recalling the first hours in the nearby.
Having signed the papers that the operatives slipped to him, the young man hoped that he would have awarded seven days of arrest and return home.

- They promised to give several days of arrest or a fine and release, if we admit. We received seven days for seven days and returned to the special receiver to serve the arrest. I thought it was all over, but the next day Krasnokutsk and Kazin came to me. They brought me to some office, similar to the school class, beat, humiliated, demanded “correct” answers. On November 10, employees of the CPE arrived again for us. They took us to the Investigative Committee, led upstairs to the fire station. We were divided there. Investigator Gordeev asked if my mother can afford the defender by agreement? I replied: of course, no. Then he said to write an application for an appointment lawyer. In the near future, Alexander Petrovna Artamonova arrived to carry out my protection, so to speak. Later, Krasnokutsk and Gorbanev looked into the office. The investigator told them that I give bad readings.
He looked at the lawyer and asked her to leave, because the further sight would not be for female eyes, ”Mordasov says. - The three of them began to beat me. I told them that it would not work, I still do not admit. Then Gordeev took a gas mask from the cabinet. “Now we will make an elephant,” the investigator said.
The next ten minutes he fiddled with a gas mask. He, of course, did not remove the damper from the filter. They put him on me several times and strangled him until I began to choke and twitch. I refused to admit again. They generally became furious, Gordeev began to yell frantically simply. In the process, an investigator Voskanyan came, who heard sounds from the corridor, and joined. They threw me to the floor and began to kick, wipe my shoes on my face. Two in front and two behind. I closed my head, and they beat in the groin. I could not stand it and agreed to sign the testimony. We went down and recorded the testimony on the spot literally from the first double. The witnesses who were with them even made me coffee. The next day, the court sent me to a pre -trial detention center.

“I was taken to the second floor and interrogated there for eight hours,” Yan Sidorov said at the trial. - As soon as I went into the office, the CPE employee (Mukhadin) Urusov immediately pushed me to the chair, began to beat on his cheeks and a bottle on the head. They said that we were going to arrange mass riots, that we wanted to repeat the Maidan, that they all knew about us. Krasnokutsk was sitting in front of me. He protocolized not my words, but his point of view on what happened. I had to answer everything the way they wanted. If I denied something, they beat me in the face and humiliated me. Someone brought the bat and said: "This is how you wanted to hold a picket." I did not want all this to continue, and simply signed the paper. After that I was lowered to the first floor.

In court, investigators presented their version of events. In their opinion, young people, succumbing to opposition campaigning on the Internet, created a secret chat in which they discussed problems in the country, were outraged by the actions of the state, and criticized the behavior of the authorities. As evidence of the danger that young people represent for the state, investigators showed the court screenshots of the secret chat, and, as the defense noted more than once, only those episodes in which the words “riots”, “attacks”, “Molotov cocktail”, etc. were chosen.
At that moment, the most discussed event in Rostov was a large fire in the private sector on the theater descent. The fire covered more than 30 thousand square meters, one person died, about 600 were without a roof over his head.
In the fall of 2017 (two months after the fire), it became obvious that Pogorelians would not allow the opportunity to return and rebuild their homes again. The city is still suing those who do not want to leave the plots with surviving houses. Outraged young people decided to draw attention to this problem and go out to the square in front of the government building with the poster “Return the land of the Rostov Pogorelians”. It was on this day that the “New Russian Revolution” of Maltsev was announced.

Meanwhile, investigators insisted: yesterday’s schoolchildren did not discuss problems in the chat, but the methods of organizing riots, shared the recipes of the Molotov cocktail, told how to use soldier belts in case of open confrontation to police officers, called for riots and distributed roles in their organization, told how to fill sugar into the gas tank of patrol machines so that they were not started.
- I do not admit my guilt. I did not call anyone for pogroms and arson, did not distribute the roles, did not say that it was necessary to prepare explosives. I organized a peaceful protest. I have never been in the “artillery”, but I learned that it was recognized as an extremist organization only last spring. Our actions were not aimed at causing harm to society. The ultimate goal was to solve the problem of fireworks. We did not want to change power in the country, we wanted to attract the attention of the authorities to problems. You can never remain indifferent to other people's problems, ”Yan Sidorov explained in court.
The history of Yana Sidorov and Vlada Mordasov is compared with the resonant case of “New Greatness”, the investigation of which in 2018 led to mass protests in Moscow.
It seems that the Rostov case was spinning at the Tsepeshniki according to the same scheme: implementation - provocation - arrest - court.

The lawyer of the Agora human rights organization, Sergei Denisenko, who took up Yana and Vlada, stated that both the investigation and the court were accusations.
- I did not participate in the process from the very beginning. But by what I studied by the protocols, I claim: the court is on the side of the prosecution. We believe that there was no fair court today, as yesterday, and the day before yesterday, and from the very beginning. We were deprived of the opportunity to defend our innocence, including providing evidence. Significant witnesses, specialists were not interrogated, the court did not investigate the group in the chat, in which the participation is charged with guilty, ”Denisenko told reporters after one of the August meetings.
He managed to defend Yana Sidorov not without difficulty: the court stubbornly insisted that the lawyer was defended by the young man by appointment Anastasia Tarasenko. On the day when the defendants were given the last word, she asked the court to ban video shooting in the courtroom to reporters. The judge forbade.
“The prosecutor’s speech was replete with assumptions:“ maybe ”,“ the character of the rally is not defined ”,“ it was likely to resist, ”Yana Vladimir Sidorov was indignant. - When accusations on particularly grave articles, assumptions are not allowed, direct intent should be clearly proved.
Vlada Marina Mordasova’s mother, before the final meetings, recorded a video in which she turned to the Rostovites with a request to support her son, accused of a serious crime, just for trying to realize her constitutional right to freedom of assembly. On the march on September 29, on Sakharov Avenue in Moscow, the requirements of the Rostov prisoners of conscience - Yana Sidorov and Vlad Mordasov sounded, were also in Moscow.

“I'm in shock, as if everything is not happening to us, it’s just some kind of Sur,” says Marina. - Is this a court, if all the defense petitions were deviated, the examinations were recognized only from the prosecution? Neither psychological linguistic, who confirmed that the guys did not call for violence, but, on the contrary, were gathering for a peaceful rally, nor the second, conducted after the interrogation of Vlad, confirmed that he spoke clearly with memorized phrases that it was not his vocabulary. They were not attached to the case - they did not allow us to defend ourselves, the legal right to defense was violated.
The prosecution requested for Vlad 8.5 years in prison with serving a sentence in a maximum security colony; For Yana Sidorov - 8 years of “general”, for Vyacheslav Shamshin - 3 years of colony.
A freely tough claim of the prosecution caused such a resonance in society that more than a hundred people came to the last meeting in the Rostov Regional Court - a rare case for Rostov.
For the first time, even Pogorelians came to support the accused, for whom Yang and Vlad stood in November 2017, however, there were only a few people out of six hundred victims.

- Understand, many are now suing the city administration. They threaten us, we are afraid to lose the little that is left, - on the terms of anonymity, one of the victims told reporters. - Although in the soul, of course, Pogorelians very highly appreciate the act of boys.
The last word of Vlada Mordasov people (in violation of the regulations) were met by applause. He refused to plead guilty, once again declared torture and demanded liberation.
-Has anyone found sugar? Say that I still killed someone with a pencil. Or that I cause acid rains. My fault was not proved during the investigation, I did not commit acts incriminated to me. The main argument of the prosecution is my testimony under pressure, ”said Vlad.
The Human Rights Center "Memorial" and Amnesty International have already recognized Yana Sidorov and Vlada Mordasov political prisoners.
- Jan Sidorov and Vladislav Mordasov were persecuted exclusively for the use of rights to freedom of expression and freedom of peaceful assemblies. It should immediately be removed all the charges against them and against Vyacheslav Shashmin, who claims that he was not connected with the street protest of Sidorov and Mordasov. All of them are prisoners of conscience, who should immediately be released without any conditions, the statement by Amnesty International said.
The announcement of the sentence to young people was scheduled for today, October 4. The court fully pleaded the guilt of three students. 19-year-old Yana Sidorov was sentenced to 6.5 years in a maximum security colony, 22-year-old Vladislav Mordasov-to 6 years and 7 months of a maximum security colony. For an attempt to participate in the riots, Vyacheslav Shashmin was given 3 years conditionally.
