The Ministry of Finance decided to limit the self-employed

The list of professions whose representatives can be registered as self-employed should be limited, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov believes. It is reported by RBC. There is no list of professions in the law on the self-employed.

According to Siluanov, there are cases when enterprises transfer workers to the status of self-employed.

• This is done to reduce tax and insurance payments.
• But you can hire an employee as self-employed only two years after the dismissal.

Quote. “We probably need to clearly define the list of professions where such systems can work: drivers, for example, tutors. This list should be fixed, and in this case we will be ready to extend this mechanism to the subjects,” the minister explained.

The tax regime for the self-employed was launched as an experiment in early 2019 in four regions. In 2020, it is planned to expand it to the whole country.

• The self-employed pay personal income tax at a rate of 4-6%, and not the personal income tax of 13%.
• To register as such, you need to have an income of no more than 2.4 million rubles a year and not use employees.
• As of September, 201,000 people became self-employed in Russia.
• According to the RANEPA , there are actually 16-17 million self-employed in Russia.
