Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov was unable to take part in the main match of the tournament in Beijing, the prize fund of which exceeds $3.5 million. “I’m proud that I fought like crazy throughout the match because Karen played very well. In terms of quality, it was the best of the three head-to-head matches we had,” Tim was quoted as saying by the official ATP website . “I have a feeling that Karen was a little better for a set and a half. I only came back into the match because I fought, because I always believed I could turn it around."

In the final, Thiem will play with the winner of the match, Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, who turned out to be stronger than Alexander Zverev from Germany - 7:6, 6:4.
