Residents of Almetyevsk in the Republic of Tatarstan have been opposing the construction of a chemical plant for the third month immediately abroad. Citizens are trying to prevent the construction of the plant - in their opinion, production emissions will harm the atmosphere.

Residents of Almetyevsk learned about the plans for the construction of the chemical plant in mid -July. According to the representative of Tatneft, Syirepov Syrenia, in the territory of the gas processing plant in two years, they organize the first production of maleine anhydride-plasticizer in Russia, which is obtained during the oxidation of N-Butan.

People do not like that the production of a chemical, which can cause irritation of the mucous membranes, will be almost near the boundaries of Almetyevsk. Next to the site under the enterprise is the village of Nizhnyaya Maktama, where, as activists say, the Tatar authorities allocate areas for large families.

The inhabitants of Almetyevsk began to go to rallies frightened by rumors. One of them took place on August 25 at the outskirts of the outskirts of the outskirts of Almetyevsk, and gathered about 150 participants. Some residents were convinced by this moment: production will be safe, and nothing will harm their health.

“Our requirements are not to build a plant in general in Almetyevsk. Everything is bad with the ecology, about 13-14 million tons of oil produced. There are no forests, the river was shallow, waste is discharged into it. There is no forest in the sanitary protective strip, but the Kazan-Orenburg highway passes, ”says Gilfanov.

The plant will be built on the territory of the new special economic zone "Alma" , mainly there will be Tatneft enterprises. The company plans to engage in hydrocarbon processing in the home region - after the plant for the production of maleine anhydride, a polymers' production enterprise will be built there. Now in the vicinity of Almetyevsk, oil and gas are mainly produced - the government of the republic believes that this will increase taxes in the region.
