Airlines asked for 30 billion rubles for a gradual increase in ticket prices

Airlines have asked the government for more than 30 billion rubles, which will allow them to avoid "a sharp rise in ticket prices," aviation market sources told Izvestia. For the six months of 2019, air tickets have risen in price by 7%, and the losses of carriers have reached 52 billion rubles against 50 billion for the entire 2018. The Association of Air Transport Operators (AEVT) applied to the Ministry of Transport for budget money. Flights, according to the agency, for the first half of 2019 rose by 7%. By the end of the year, prices will increase by 9-10% compared to 2018, the Association warned . * A third of the cost of the flight is jet fuel. Over the year, it has risen in price by 30%, according to the AEVT in a letter to officials.

The Ministry of Transport believes that the money should be given to the 34 largest carriers, and not "to all airlines", as, according to the source of the newspaper, the AEVT is asking.
