The Moscow prosecutor demanded to recover almost 5 million rubles from the oppositionists for “damage to the Russian Federation” due to the protest

The Moscow prosecutor, through the court, demanded to recover 2.5 million rubles from the oppositionists because of the protest action on July 27 “to compensate for the damage that was caused to the Russian Federation,” press secretary of the Cheryomushkinsky District Court Irena Kozaeva told MBKh Media.

Kozaeva noted that the plaintiff wants to compensate for the costs of “additional forces and means” of the National Guard and “fuels and lubricants that were used during the rally.”

The defendants are Alexey Navalny, Lyubov Sobol, Ivan Zhdanov, Georgy Alburov, Vladimir Milov, Alexander Solovyov, Ilya Yashin and Oleg Stepanov.

Later, the press secretary added that the prosecutor’s office demands that 2.379 million rubles be recovered separately from Georgy Alburov and Lyubov Sobol in connection with the action on August 3. The total amount of the claim is 4.9 million rubles.

The claim was submitted to the court on September 4, but five days later, on September 9, it was left without movement. The amount of compensation and the nature of the claims were unknown. On September 23, the Moscow prosecutor’s claim was nevertheless accepted for proceedings.
