The New York Times told readers about the Russian elite special forces of the GRU under the code number 29155, which is engaged in a "coordinated campaign for destabilization in Europe." According to NYT, it is with this military intelligence unit that the coupling attempt in Montenegro, the destabilization of the situation in Moldova, the poisoning of the Bulgarian weapon Emilian Grebev and an unsuccessful attempt on the ex-colonel of the GRU Sergei Skripal, are associated with this unit of military intelligence.

According to NYT, “Unit 29155” is deployed in the east of Moscow, in the special forces No. 161, and the unit employees “veterans of wars in Afghanistan, Chechnya and Ukraine”, and the operations of special forces “are so secret that other GRU employees are unknown about its existence”.

And the fact that in Moscow (at the address: 11th Parkovaya Street, 38 “A”) is the headquarters of the “161st Center for the Training of Intelligence Specialists” in Soviet times.

It was in this center that graduates of combined arms, tank, artillery and other military schools who passed the selection for transfer to military intelligence were held. In the troops, this center was called "Bursa GRU."

On the 11th Parkova, both during the USSR and now, only the headquarters and administrative services of the 161st Center are located, while the training of students takes place mainly at training grounds in the suburbs. Among the graduates and teachers of the center there are indeed many veterans of local conflicts. Actually, to prepare participants in such hostilities, the Center was created back in 1962 in the structure of the sixth GRU Directorate, which was engaged in operational intelligence.

Cadets "Bursy GRU" are prepared very seriously. And the main emphasis in training is placed on disarming or liquidation of armed terrorists, disables of the enemy infrastructure, warehouses with ammunition, and equipment. It is no coincidence that there were many graduates of the 161st Center in the exemptions of sabotage and reconnaissance groups of distinguishing, for example, during the liberation from the militants of the Syrian city of Aleppo.

Graduates of this center can blow up a bridge or power station, destroy a car with a terrorist or a traitor, but talk about participation in a special operation to “destabilize Europe” or in planning a conspiracy to overthrow power in any country in relation to graduates of this center is not their specifics. For this, there are completely different performers in the same GRU, and they prepare them in other places.

Note that some “sources from the Russian special services” are not the first to supply Western intelligence services and the media for some “exclusive information”.
