Putin supported the collective farm financing model for Russian football and told how his nose was broken

The reform of financing of professional football and hockey clubs in Russia has become one of the main topics of the Presidential Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports, which was held in Nizhny Novgorod.

The Russian Football Union will consider the option in which the clubs will begin to receive funding from a special fund, the deductions to which large companies and state corporations that now support individual teams will make.

“This means that all the companies that now finance their clubs will have to send money to the fund, and from there they will fairly be distributed to all other teams. I think that such a collective farm would be much more fair than what we see today: the competition of wallets is happening,” Vladimir Putin reacted to this proposal.

Now in Russian football there is a situation in which almost all leading clubs exist thanks to the support of state corporations and large companies. For example, the St. Petersburg Zenit feeds from Gazprom, the Moscow Lokomotiv - from Russian Railways, Spartak - from Lukoil.

The head of state also spoke about the first sport that he was engaged in, as well as what serious injury he received.

“My first sport that I was engaged in was boxing. They broke my nose. And it all stopped quickly. I didn’t go to the doctor, they mainly got better,” Putin opened up when he was presented with a diamond glove.
