In Moscow, 10 people were detained near the Chechen representative office. Three people picketed in support of LGBT people

In Moscow, near the representative office of Chechnya, activists who were standing with a single picket in support of LGBT, and nearby people, 10 people in total, were detained. This was reported by a member of the LGBT initiative Action! Anastasia Rezyuk.

The picket was dedicated to the International Coming Out Day. The picketer was holding a banner reading “Gays are being killed and tortured in Chechnya. Where are the criminal cases? Two more people stood in turn with him in the picket. Police officers, without identifying themselves and presenting nothing, detained a picketer who handed out several brochures about the Coming Out Day to journalists, and activists who were nearby, as well as two provocateurs.

They were taken to the Meshchansky police department.

17:36 Polina Simonenko was also detained at the Chechen representation. She is being taken in a car to the Meshchanskoe OVD.

One of the detainees said that the two provocateurs who were detained together with them had already been released. According to her information, they are NOD (National Liberation Movement) activists.

18:55 Seven detainees are still being held in a paddy wagon. Two have already been taken to the police station. Syrgan Chidaran told OVD-Info that the police promised to “kick” the detainees and also threatened that they would force them to give fingerprints.

Lawyers from OVD-Info Andrey Yumashev and Leonid Solovyov are going to the department to see the detainees.

Lawyer Leonid Solovyov reports that the police intended to charge the detainees with an article on propaganda of homosexuality among minors (Article 6.21 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). It is not yet known whether protocols have been drawn up for anyone.

21:00 Three detainees are still in the paddy wagon. Their heating is off and they are freezing. At the same time, those who had already been taken out of the paddy wagon were told that the heaters were on.

22:00 The last activists were taken out of the paddy wagon. Protocols were drawn up on the detainees.

23:30 Activists are released from the Meshchansky police department with protocols under part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. At least six people have already left the department.
